Sectors

We do most of our work in six sectors.

Depth in a sector matters. The tax issues facing a farming family are not the same as those facing a sports professional or a property investor. We know the difference.

About the firm

A practice you can name the partners of.

Philip Barnes & Co has been advising businesses and individuals across Tamworth and Uttoxeter for over fifty years. We operate from two offices in Staffordshire — The Old Council Chambers in Tamworth and 40 Carter Street in Uttoxeter — and we have remained independently owned throughout.

We are organised around one named partner per client. The partner you meet at the outset handles your work, answers your calls, and attends your meetings. That is not a policy we adopted recently; it is how the firm has always worked.

I have been a client of Philip Barnes & Co for several years, during which time my business affairs have been restructured to help maximise my income levels. John Clark and his team, have advised on, and managed all areas of this transition. John could do with some work on his squash game, but his accountancy skills are pretty good! Thanks for your help! I would highly recommend Philip Barnes & Co.
Nick Matthew · 3 Time World Champion Squash Player
Philip Barnes & Co have looked after my accounts and tax affairs for more than 7 years, and during that period, I have saved a significant amount of tax, thanks to the restructuring and tax planning advice I have received. I find John Clark's approach very refreshing, and easy to understand, and would highly recommend him, and his business to other sports professionals. Although, John could still do with quite a few more golf lessons!
Rob Rock · Golfing Tour Professional
We have been a farming client of Philip Barnes since 1970 and we have always found them approachable, friendly and supportive. Jo Warburton has always 'gone the extra mile' for us. Our diversification projects and our contracting companies have grown over the years with the professional support of Philip Barnes. I would certainly recommend them to small or large businesses.
